In today’s post, we will learn how to easily make Baby Dungarees with our simple baby dungarees knitting pattern. This Baby Dungarees is made in garter stitch, keeping beginners in mind. It is designed for babies up to 8 months old.
However, every child’s height and weight vary, so I have also provided the complete measurement below. The baby dungaree knitting pattern starts from the bottom of the feet and is attached by making both legs, then it is made forward.
The baby dungaree has been made in two parts, then the front and back parts have been attached together. In this post, I have explained in great detail the step-by-step method of making it. In addition to this, the video of the romper is also attached below, from where you can also learn to make it.

Knitting the baby dungaree front part
The baby dungaree starts from the bottom of the legs and the border will come from the bottom of the legs.
First, knit a 1X1 Rib Stitch Border for the right leg.
Row 1 (RS) – * K1, P1 * repeat from * to *
Row2 (WS) – Knit in knit & Purl in purl
I knitted 17 rows for the border, which measures 2 inches in length.
Now we have to increase the stitches & we increased 4 stitches in row 18.
Row 18 ( WS ) – Knit all sts and increase 1 stitch after every 6 stitches. I have increased the total of 4 stitches.
Now I have a total of 32 stitches on the needle. After that knit all stitches from both sides and complete a total of 78 rows or or 39 strips.
Now first part (Right Leg) is completed. Knit another part (Left Leg) same as the first part. Finally, join the both leg pieces together.

Knitting the baby dungaree back part
We need to make the back part of the baby dungaree just like the front part. We need to start with 28 stitches on the needle and continue until there are 40 stitches left on the needle.
Knit on both sides and complete a total of 12 rows.
We have to bind off and knit straps for the back part.
RS – Knit all sts
WS – K8, bind off 24 sts, K8
8 stitches are remaining on both corners of the back part. We knit straps that are 7 inches long from both corners and sew the buttons onto the straps.
